KRYPTONITETM Bone Cement is a non-toxic, porous, adhesive, that posesses bone-like mechanical properties, and is composed of naturally occurring fatty acids and calcium carbonate. Final synthesis of KRYPTONITE Bone Cement simply requires mixing of three components.

Component A Component A (Prepolymer) contains a naturally occurring hydroxyl terminated fatty acid derived from castor oil. This triglyceride is synthesized with NCO groups to create prepolymer chains ready for polymerization upon mixing with Component B.

Component B (Polyol) similarly contains a naturally occurring hydroxyl terminated fatty acid derived from castor oil along with a catalyst and water. The water reacts with NCO groups from Component A to release carbon dioxide, one of the sources of the KRYPTONITETM Bone Cement’s porosity.

Component C (Calcium Carbonate) is a nonreactive filler used to enhance porosity and achieve the desired mechanical and structural properties.
